The Wealth of Intentional Action

As we start the year, let’s rethink how we are approaching our financial goals or resolutions.  It can be easy to take the cultural view of "I need to spend less" or "I need to save more.” Do those ideals align with your goals, values, and life you want to live?

Let’s consider a comparison between being rich or wealthy. There is a distinction to be made between these terms so let’s define them:

Rich
is growing the value of your assets.

Wealthy is freely living the life you want.

Being rich and wealthy can often go hand in hand, but don’t have to. One can be wealthy without being rich. This all comes back to the idea of defining what is enough. If we can find that point of contentment in life, the number of zero’s doesn’t matter. On the other hand, one can be rich but lack meaning, purpose, and contentment in life.

In 2025, take time to gain clarity and purpose in where you want to be headed. Set resolutions or goals that match that direction. We are here to help you process through this.

Here’s a question to start with: What type of wealth are you hoping to increase in 2025?

1. Financial & Status
2. Relationships
3. Physical & Mental
4. Personal
5. Time

For me personally, #2 & #3 stick out as focus areas in 2025 - building stronger relationships with my wife, kids, friends, and clients with an underlying prioritization of physical health.

Justin McCurdy, CFP

Hello, I’m Justin and I am excited to be part of the Bridge Financial Planning team!

While studying at the University of Notre Dame I developed a passion for solving complex challenges. Upon graduating, I started my career in financial planning and quickly became enthusiastic about the detailed analytical skills involved, paired with the personal connections developed while serving clients. I became a CFP® professional to increase my knowledge, enabling me to better serve our clients.

I view each person’s financial life as a unique challenge on which I am privileged to advise on potential solutions.  I provide unbiased financial advice that gives clarity and confidence to each client as they progress towards their unique goals. I look forward to meeting with you and partnering with you on your financial plans.

On a personal note, my wife Heather and I live in Northwest Indiana (about an hour from Chicago). Heather and I are blessed to be parents of young triplets – 2 sons and 1 daughter. When not spending time with my family, I enjoy spending time in the kitchen – baking, cooking, and making ice cream. In my local community, I volunteer with Meals on Wheels.
