Financial Planning

Your goals and plans are very important to the planning work we do. We want to understand all the details to co-create a path forward.

After an initial consultation, we will send a written proposal with the next steps and clear explanations about our fees. The flat rate planning fee is based on our understanding of the scope of work and complexities related to your plan.

For clients looking for planning only, we evaluate your portfolio and offer asset allocation guidance, but not specific buy/sell recommendations.

Ongoing Planning
& Investment Management

If you have decided to move forward with Investment Management, we will move to a regular review meeting schedule. Typically, we start with quarterly meetings to implement the plan and set up the investment accounts. We then monitor and adjust as life changes.

Fees start at 0.95% annually on the investments we manage with breakpoints starting at $1M of managed investments. The financial planning fee may be reduced or eliminated if you choose this option.

We help clients who are ready to make progress. Your goals are at the center of the conversation. Every client circumstance is unique, and to do our work well, we look into a variety of topics to be sure that everything is aligned in a consistent direction to meet your goals.

  • Cash flow is the foundation of finance. With a surplus, goals can be achieved in time. We take time to work with our clients to get cash flow as accurate as possible so the results of your plan will be too.

  • Investments are an important part of financial planning, but not the only one! For planning only clients, we offer insight and guidance around target allocations and diversification. For clients using our investment management services, we offer full management, support, and regular reporting of your investment management goals.

  • Are you making the most of the benefits you have? We evaluate your options and offer advice to make good choices during open enrollment. If you’re a business owner, we can help start or manage a retirement plan for your company.

  • Every family is unique. From health challenges, to blended families, or spendthrift tendencies, each circumstance is unique and the techniques to address them should be too.

  • We’re not attorneys, but we often coordinate our work with estate planning attorneys to be sure that the intent of our clients is reflected in their estate plan. From beneficiary designations, to account titling, and clear communications, a good estate plan is a gift to yourself and your family.

  • Will I have enough? When is it ok to pull back from my career? These are tough questions to answer without doing the work of financial planning. It incorporates most all of the other topics listed here. You work hard and your retirement plan should too.

  • We don’t sell insurance, but we do advise our clients on coverage based on their risk profile. After all, insurance is simply a risk transfer technique. If you have a risk you are unwilling or unable to meet on your own, that’s when insurance comes into play. We believe in matching coverage to the risk management needs of our clients. No more and no less.

  • Education funding can be expensive! Planning ahead and setting clear priorities and guidelines around how much and what kind of education funding is possible and prudent is sometimes a tough call for parents. We can be an objective third party and offer advice on the best ways to fund your educational goals.

  • Charitable giving can take many forms: time, talent, and treasure. It’s not always a financial gift, but when it is, you’ll want to be as efficient and effective as possible. We’ll help you evaluate the best ways to accomplish your philanthropic goals.

  • We are not CPAs, but there are several areas of financial planning that impact tax efficiency. We’ll work with your tax professional and offer tax efficient strategies.
